Corktip  403

It was 1968, NKX, hot refueling pits after a training flight; Three F-8 Crusaders, line abreast: photo F-8 on Hoser’s port pit, Alex “Rattler” Rucker on stbd. pit.  Freddy “The Tuna” Pfluger was in the PP, “Corktip 403”…. Just about the time, Freddy “The Tuna” is pumped full and ready to disconnect,,   D-Hose, on NKX ground control freq… Sez,
“Ground, this is Porktip,,,4, zero,,.Ah,,, 4-zero….. Gun Fighter…. What’s my side number…. Rattler being on top of the spoof, sez, “4-zero one”…. (D-Hose) “Yea, ground, this is Porktip 401, like to taxi from the pits to the,,, run..u…pits to the…hold sh… pits to the lin… Oh, forget it ground”,, Freddy “the tuna", then sez on ground control, "That was not me!…that was not me!” Someone,,,, now I ain’t sure to this day who it twas, said on ground,  “yes, it was”.

EAGLE EATERS story are my favorites  


single 16mm frame blow up of the pipper on the Eagle pilot's helmet from the tabu Turk/Hoser  Eagle feather shoot @ AIM/ACE. Radar lock, Vc bout zero, range 'bout 250ft, "Guns" selected, Master Arm ON (noX over the G), rounds remaining 0. There are about 17 frames with the pipper on the F-15, but this was one of only two on his helmet. This photo is on the bulkhead in my "war room". VR   D-Hose.......
